From the Director

Dear IHS Music Department family:

Please allow this email to serve as a reminder that registration for the 2015 Spring Break Florida Trip will end in 5 days on May 20, 2014. If you are interested in joining us on this trip, sign-up procedures are attached. At this time, only a minimal deposit is due to the tour company. We believe this trip to be an outstanding educational opportunity and an excellent price for the transportation, meals, lodging, and activities included.

As always, our trip is dependent on securing parent chaperones to keep your sons and daughters safe 1100 miles from home. The chaperone cost is the same price as it is for students and is based upon double-occupancy rooms for adults. Please sign-up in the same manner as Department members.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the IHS Music Department. Rest assured, the May 20 deadline is set by our tour company to secure 2014 pricing on fixed costs, not the Department. Additional, OPTIONAL, insurance is available if you are concerned about the need to remove yourself from the trip prior to next year. For many, these trips are the highlight of their high school years and include the pinnacle of performance opportunities for our musicians.

Enrichment is part of the Music Booster's Mission

The ongoing mission of the music boosters is to foster and encourage student development in the musical arts. Throughout the year the music boosters raise money to provide funds used to purchase instruments, equipment and uniforms. Booster volunteers provide hospitality for both the IHS and visiting bands at football halftime, and also assist with set design/construction and costume design/creation for the madrigal and drama productions. The Music Boosters also offer a musical enrichment grant for eligible students.
